What the Hell…?

In today’s episode, we’ll be discussing a triptych of one acts by composer Paul Hindemith that are so rife with misogyny that we almost quit after the first one. However, since we are nothing if not consummate professionals, we powered through all of them. Other fun things found in these operas include literal and metaphorical stabbings, Burmese puppets, a failed castration, a mythological rat beast named NUSCH-NUSCHI, and a sex-crazed nun.
